I will forever be coming back to this subject, because I re-address it habitually. Constant tweaks and augmentations are what makes us who we are ... nature made us want to strive for more (if we didn't life would be pretty boring!). The mind is a big part of our being, and its pretty powerful, so working out how to use it properly helps! Most of us don't know this can be done, or think that the immediate / here now actions are all you need to control.

Whether you like it or not, your persona and reactions are largely controlled by your subconscious, which is navigated by the way it conceives things ...

Sound like jibberish!? ok, well let me put it this way, your kneejerk / fight or flight reactions are governed by past experiences; emotional ties; habits, routines, visualisations and any other information it can use to ... react!
Engineering the subconscious is a skill that need to be learned, and all skills are acquired by trial and error. Have a target to go for and make sure that your ultimate goal is to get there, no matter which/how many deviations you need to take on the way there. Once the goal and the lessons learned from the deviations are hardwired into the subconscious, it will start to auto-correct itself, guiding you to the goal you want to achieve. It took me a while to understand and learn how to develop my way of thinking ... but now its in everything I use.

Every time I think about trying to force something to happen or do something where I feel uncomfortable ... I picture a scene from the Simpsons where a doctor is describing all of Mr Burns' germs trying to get through a door all at once ...

So to avoid feeling like this I make sure I know what I'm doing (or at least make sure I'm comfortable with doing something I don't know), I create foundations that can handle it.

The next topic is part of it and one I will be referring to a lot as it is at the crux of all of my actions, decisions and perceptions. I've read several books to help dissect and analyse this, but Maxwell Maltzs "Psycho Cybernetics" seems to be the most relevant (despite it being originally written in the 1960's, its still relevant, and still used in A LOT of current NLP books!) ... its the one I have returned to and referred to the most. If you'd like a brief snippet of what the book contains, I found this blog contains a good outline (I have no idea who put it together, the author just says "royal"). If you would like to know more about Psycho Cybernetics, Matthew Furys Blog at the psycho cybernetics foundation is a good place to go for further reading.

This unconscious mind has no will of its own. The conscious mind is the "control knob" of the unconscious / automatic mechanism. If the conscious mind is feeding negative thoughts and ideas into the unconscious, the unconscious will develop negative patterns subsequently.

Some excerpts from the book:

The reason why some people are so used to negative beliefs is because they have either forgotten or never realized that they have the ability to control their present thinking to produce a life of enjoyment.

Human beings always act and feel and perform in line with what they imagine to be true about themselves and their enviroment.

We act not according to what things are, but rather what we conceive things to be.

Negative beliefs, according to Dr. Maltz is a form of hypnotism you are doing to yourself

Feelings of inferiority do not come from "facts" or experiences. These feelings come from our beliefs and conclusions of our experiences.

Step 1. Have a new vision - what you want to achieve in life, money, relationships.

Step 2. Make Declarations and say them 3 times a day to keep you focused.

Step 3. Use Subliminal imprinting materials such as photo and mental movies of what you want to achieve and have in a material way.

Step 4. Use emotional triggers by going back to feelings of good in your life when you were at your best or had a happy memory and link that feeling to the new situation.

Step 5. Daily reconditioning for 5 minutes per day, upon waking, just before bed use a mental movie of your day, see every thing going just as planned.

Step 6. Visualization techniques such as photo's of things you want to buy, mental movies of situations you want to go well.
